The moment you are convinced that greed, desire, ambition, etc, are harming your interests, rather come in your way of happiness as well as peace, you will without any effort keep away from them. They will drop away without any effort only as a result of your convictions; and for this you do not require a Guru. There is no time-space between conviction and experience. The moment you are convinced, you are free.
