But for you to become established in the knowledge, reflecting and meditating on it is very essential. For that it is necessary to quit one habit you are normally given to and substitute another habit. Now what is this substitute habit ? It is to think constantly that you are not the body.

Buddha says : Start with breathing, because that is the most simple thing in the world, so simple that you don't do it at all. It happens on its own. Watch it, become aware of it. Sitting silently, simply see the breath going in, the breath going out.

Meditation is the final gateway which leads to the Supreme Self within. The mind of man attracted by the sense-organs constantly dwells in the sense-objects around him. To subdue these activities the first step in the process of meditation would necessarily be to disengage his attention from the world. This is achieved by practising selfless service, by cultivating devotion to the Lord or by studying and reflecting upon the scriptural indications of the Truth.
