The quality of food influences the mind. The mind feeds on the food consumed.

The food affects the mind. For the practice of any kind of yoga vegetarianism is absolutely necessary since it makes the mind more sattvic.

Concentrate on that one whom you like the best. If a single thought prevails, all other thoughts are put off and finally eradicated. So long as diversity prevails there are bad thoughts. When the objects of love prevails only good thoughts hold the field. Therefore hold on to one thought only. DHYANA is the chief practice.

A temple is not a place for bargaining, it is a place for rest and relaxation, where tired and exhausted from all your worldly activities, you can find relief and peace. There are no conditions for entering a temple: that you can only come if you have this much money; that you can only come if you have this much knowledgeability; or you can only come if you have this much prestige - a temple accepts you as you are. It is a place so simple that you are accepted as you are.

The meaning of having someone as your centre is that your life is now a surrendered life. Worshipping implies a surrendered life. Worshipping the divine means living as the divine wishes; sitting and standing, eating and drinking, speaking and remaining silent also for the divine.

Our minds have certain qualities which aid us in this quest. In all the traditions there are stories of the innocent who sets out in quest of wisdom, gold or a sacred object. In the end he returns to where he came from only to understand it was before his very eyes all the time. Why are we blind ? It is a pardox that we first have to comprehend what we have lost before we can begin to appreciate what we have. To become what we are not before we can realize who we are.

When we could see godliness personified within the shape of a temple, something of godliness lingered on in our minds. This was especially so for people who could not visualize the unmanifest divine. For those who could, there was no need for a temple. But in a way these people caused great harm to the temple because they said that temples had no use and that they should be dispensed with.

If temples are destroyed, how would those who cannot visualize the unmanifest form of godliness, ever be able to think of godliness ?

The temple remains a source of inspiration all twenty four hours of your day.
